Last December my husband and I spent some time at night to visit Kodaiji temple which is famous of its illumination during autumn season. The lit-up garden of the temple was amazing and the light performance in front of the main temple was stunning.
But when we arrived at its bamboo grove, hmm… the light made it different feeling. Usually, when I walk through a bamboo grove I feel a little bit uneasy in term of its spooky situation 🙂 and I cannot imagine to walk through a bamboo grove at night!
But it was totally different there. We walked at night through a bamboo grove, in a style of Japanese tranquility around, with the autumn’s night breeze. It gave us a mysterious romantic ambience…
Light creates ambience and feel of a place as well as the expression of a structure – Le Corbusier
Or I felt that way because I was there with my loved one? 🙂
